Brewing Tip #1

Espresso-Like Crema with a Paper Filter

Create rich, delicious crema by following the instructions for an espresso style shot below! Use a dark roast coffee and a paper filter with this recipe for the best results. Learn more about making crema!

1. Place a paper filter into the AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap.

2. Twist the cap very tightly onto the chamber of the AeroPress Original, AeroPress Go or AeroPress Clear.

3. Place 1 heaping AeroPress scoop (15 g) of finely ground dark roast coffee into the chamber. Shake to level.

4. Pour water right off the boil (around 210°F/99°C) up to about the middle of the (1) (around 50 g).

5. Stir vigorously 20 times.

6. Let brew for 1 minute.

7. Insert plunger and press firmly all the way through until the plunger makes a roaring sound and reaches the bed of coffee.

8. Enjoy as is or use in lattes, cappuccinos, and more!

Brewing Tip #2

Japanese Style Iced Coffee with a Metal Filter

Brew up a refreshing Japanese flash-brewed iced coffee using the AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap.

1. Place a metal filter into the AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap.

2. Twist the cap very tightly onto the chamber of the AeroPress Original, AeroPress Go, or AeroPress Clear.

3. Place 20 g of finely ground coffee into the chamber. Shake to level.

4. Pour 100 ml of water (198°F/92°C) into the chamber.

5. Stir for 5 seconds.

6. Let brew for 1 minute.

7. Insert plunger and press firmly all the way through until the plunger makes a roaring sound and reaches the bed of coffee.

8. Place 100 g of ice into a glass and pour the hot coffee over the ice.

9. Enjoy!

Not Really a Brewing Tip but …

How to Clean

It’s easy to keep the AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap clean. For day to day use, all you need is a simple rinse. For a deeper cleaning, wash the cap thoroughly with soap and water or clean it in the top rack of your dishwasher. Note: Please don’t use harsh chemicals such as bleach.
