I got my start in coffee 14 years ago, working for my brother-in-law's coffee company. From the start, I was hooked and became obsessed with coffee. This led me to compete in latte art for years before transitioning to competing in the USCC Brewers Cup. I made it to nationals in the Brewer's Cup the past two seasons, and peaked when I reached the finals and finished top 6 in the nation. I have spent time judging the Brewer's Cup as well as competing, and I am on the Brewer's Cup committee this year. I work at Flux Coffee, where I roast, run the education program, and head up our QC (quality control) program. My favorite part about working in coffee is the community and the friendships that I've made. When I'm not competing or working in coffee, I enjoy spending time outdoors camping with my family and going to see live music.
The AeroPress Manual Grinder is the perfect grinder for me. Its compact size and innovative handle are perfect for when I'm on the go, and camping. It fits conveniently in the handle of the AeroPress, which helps me save space in my pack. I find what keeps me reaching past my other manual grinders for the AeroPress Grinder is the cup that it produces. As a Brewers Cup competitor, taste and cup profile will always be my deciding factor in choosing my gear. It produces great clarity in its brews, but what I find sets it apart is the body it produces, which is round and juicy, exactly what I'm chasing when competing.
