The AeroPress Clear XL can brew 20 oz (600 ml), or 2-4 cups of coffee, at one time.
You should use an XL size filter with the AeroPress Clear XL.
Clean with lukewarm water, gentle soap, and a gentle cloth every week to preserve the life of your AeroPress Clear XL. You can also clean AeroPress Clear XL in your dishwasher (top or bottom rack).
For the best brewing experience, use a medium-fine grind size, shake to level the bed of coffee grounds before pouring in the water, and pour the water slowly. You can also try the AeroPress XL Flow Control Filter Cap, which allows you to experiment with any grind size by eliminating drip-through!
We recommend that you do not press into any glass mugs or carafes with this product. Clear XL includes a carafe made from crystal-clear, shatterproof Tritan™ that’s perfect for brewing and serving.
Yes, it is (top rack and bottom rack safe).
Yes, it is BPA-free.
It comes with a scoop, a stirrer, a Tritan™ carafe, and paper filters.
It can make American style coffee, cold brew style coffee, or espresso style coffee (which can also be used in drinks like lattes and cappuccinos).
Yes, it makes cold brew.
The AeroPress XL Variable Flow Control Cap blocks drip-through with a Flow Restriction Disk which the user can adjust using an open-close tab, while the AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap stops drip-through with a pressure-actuated valve. They work differently, but the result is the same - delicious coffee in any style you choose, from cold brew to espresso-style, lattes and more.
Liquid does not begin flowing through the holes until the tab of this AeroPress flow control cap is opened. When fully closed, the seal plate stops all drip-through so that users can adjust their flow rates, extend their brew times and control their brew
Day to day, a simple rinse while rotating the position of the tab is sufficient to clean the Variable Flow Control Cap. If you wish, you can separate all the components for a more thorough washing before snapping them back together. You can also clean the Variable Flow Control Cap in the top rack of your dishwasher. You can do so while it is still assembled, but we recommend disassembling it first
What size filter do I use with my AeroPress XL Variable Flow Control Cap?You should use an XL size AeroPress paper or metal filter with the AeroPress XL Variable Flow Control Cap. It is not compatible with standard size AeroPress filters.
The espresso-style concentrate made by this AeroPress espresso attachment can be used in lattes, cappuccinos, and other espresso based drinks. While it is quite similar to espresso, it is not real espresso
The AeroPress XL Variable Flow Control Cap is designed in Silicon Valley and made in China.
An easy way to remove the paper filter is to use the end of your stirrer to gently brush the paper filter off of the AeroPress XL Variable Flow Control Cap. Once it has begun to peel away from the AeroPress XL Variable Flow Control Cap, the paper filter will be easy to tap out into the trash.
The AeroPress XL Variable Flow Control Cap is compatible with AeroPress Clear XL and Original XL (it is not compatible with AeroPress Original, Go, Clear, Premium, Steel or Go Plus).
Yes, you must use an XL size filter with the AeroPress XL Variable Flow Control Cap. You can use an AeroPress Paper Micro-Filter, an AeroPress metal filter (either the AeroPress Stainless Steel Filter or the Gold Tone Super Fine Filter), or both at once to create a variety of delicious flavor profiles.
Can I press while the AeroPress XL Variable Flow Control Cap is in the Closed position? No, you should always be sure to move the tab to the Open position before you begin pressing.
Coffee residue can build up around the cap's moving parts after brewing, especially if the cap is put away without rinsing. If the tab feels tough to open or close after sitting for a day or more, rinsing the cap usually restores smoother movement; for some users, warm water with a little dish soap (and then rinse thoroughly) works even better.
Hand wash using dish soap and warm water and then rinse thoroughly before next use. To prevent a recurrence, we recommend rinsing the cap with warm water after each brew.
Yes. For best day-to-day performance, rinse the cap after each brew while moving the tab between open and closed positions. A simple rinse while rotating the tab is sufficient for regular cleaning. If the tab feels stiff when opening or closing, hand wash with dish soap and warm water, then rinse thoroughly.
Yes, the adjustable grind dial offers over 60 settings suited for various brewing methods, including AeroPress, espresso, moka pot, pour-over, drip, and French press.
The grinder is factory-set to Medium-Fine, which is the optimal size for AeroPress brewing. Adjustments between fine and coarse are available to match personal taste.
The Grinder is factory-set at Rotation 3, Click 6, which is Medium-Fine, the ideal size for an AeroPress. To change the setting, turn the Dial clockwise (as you’re facing it) all the way to the right which is Rotation 1, Click 1, the finest grind size setting on the Grinder. To adjust the setting to a more coarse grind size, begin to turn the Dial counterclockwise. The more clicks and rotations made in a counterclockwise direction, the coarser the grind size will be. Count the clicks as you adjust and reference the table linked here. One full rotation is made up of 12 clicks. You can use the 60-click adjustment dial to switch from espresso-fine to coarse, suitable for AeroPress, French press, pour-over, or drip. Attach the Handle to the Hopper Lid and hold the Handle in place while you spin the Adjustment Dial to choose your grind size. It's important to hold the Handle in place to prevent the Dial from spinning freely. If the Dial spins freely, you are not adjusting the grind size. When successfully adjusting, you'll feel and hear a click with each adjustment. Important: Only make grind adjustments while the grinder is empty, and ensure the Hopper Lid is in place before making any adjustments to grind size to prevent the escape of coffee grinds.
Absolutely. Its compact, portable and durable design allows it to fit neatly inside your AeroPress (handle and all), making it ideal for travel, camping, or brewing on the go. The titanium-coated burrs and high-quality materials ensure long-lasting durability, while the sturdy construction handles regular use without wear.
Yes, a lifetime warranty covers the burr set for normal use, and a one-year warranty applies to the rest of the grinder.
The grinder uses Italian-made, titanium-coated stainless steel conical burrs that provide long-term durability and consistent, precise grinding for espresso, pour-over, French press, and AeroPress brews.
Yes. Its compact design allows the grinder to be stored inside the AeroPress Steel, Original, Clear, XL, Go Plus or Go plunger (handle and all) for easy portability. The magnetic handle snaps into a side groove for a slim profile that’s easy to take with you anywhere.
The AeroPress Manual Grinder has over 60 adjustment settings.
The aluminum catch has a capacity of 25 grams of ground coffee - ideal for single or double AeroPress servings.
The grinder body and catch are made of anodized aluminum. The handle, adjustment dial and all other internal parts along the shaft are made of stainless steel.
It’s called the Easy-Grind™ handle because its design makes grinding feel almost effortless. The longer handle arm provides more leverage than most compact grinders, and the full-size grip (not a small nub) gives you better control and comfort. Inside, two ball bearings reduce friction and keep the shaft perfectly aligned, ensuring a smooth, consistent rotation without binding. Plus, the handle arm is a single solid piece—unlike many folding designs—making it sturdier and easier to turn, even in a compact travel-friendly form.
